Who Is She?
Gwyneth Paltrow is a highly successful actress, singer, and food writer from Los Angeles, California. She was born and raised in the famous city and is the daughter of an actress and her father is a producer and director. So we think it’s pretty safe to say she knows her way around Hollywood – literally and figuratively. Gwyneth has always lead a healthy lifestyle but became well known to the public as a food lover back in 2007, when she signed on to be in a show that covered the food and culture of Spain titled “Spain…On The Road Again.” After this Miss Paltrow began to gain recognition for her love of food and has since published five books on the topic.
Gwyneth Paltrow is 44 years old but you would never know it. She has always lived a life based around health and it was time we figured out the secret of her youthful appearance. She somehow balances motherhood, being a wife, successful acting, singing, and writing careers, owning and running charities, and she still looks like she’s 30 years old. Pretty sure we can thank her daily supplement intake for her health, well being, energy levels, and ravishing good looks!
While Gwyneth Paltrow hasn’t directly spoken to the press about the specific supplements she takes on a daily basis, her wellness doctor has shared what he consistently recommends to each of his clients. Dr. Frank Lipman is the celebrity favorite wellness doctor that everyone in the industry swears by. Back in 2014 Dr. Lipman sat down with Elle Magazine to discuss what he considers the five most important vitamins and supplements to take for overall well being and health. We loved his advice and now to share it with you. Lipman recommends these supplements to all of his clients, including the lovely Miss Paltrow…
The Supplements…
Multivitamin:
Multivitamins are important for anyone, not just crazy busy actresses in the spotlight. Everyone could use a multivitamin because none of us can afford to have any deficiencies in our bodies. Gwyneth needs to be at the top of her game at all times. Multivitamins allow us to easily fill in any gaps and keep our energy levels high, with just one pill, once a day. They are especially important for those who lead active lifestyles because when we’re exercising or keeping physically busy our bodies are depleted of their essential vitamins and nutrients much more quickly.
A proper multivitamin includes a wide and complex array of vital nutrients. Vitamin deficiencies are a serious matter and taking a multivitamin will ensure that there are no gaps in your diet so that you have a smooth pathway for your health and fitness goals. Multivitamins should be taken in the morning with your breakfast so that you can start your days off right. Gwyneth Paltrow’s wellness doctor swears by multivitamins and so do we.
Multivitamin benefits include:
- Avoiding vitamin and mineral deficiencies
- Increasing energy levels
Vitamin D3:
Vitamin D is the best and Dr. Frank Lipman knows this. Vitamin D is technically a pre-hormone, not a vitamin. Either way, it’s necessary. Vitamin D is involved in basically everything. It creates hundreds of disease preventing proteins and enzymes and it affects more than 2,000 genes throughout the body. It also enriches muscle strength, builds bones, provides anti-inflammatory effects, provides anti-cancer effects, strengthens the immune system, and increases overall happiness and well being.
A ridiculous amount of people, specifically women, are vitamin D deficient and don’t even know it. It is basically impossible for your body to get all of the vitamin D it needs through diet alone. The most obvious way to increase your vitamin D intake is from sun exposure but this can be difficult to manage which is where supplements come into play. Vitamin D3 is definitely one of Gwyneth Paltrow’s secret and magical supplements.
Vitamin D3 benefits include:
- Promoting healthy and stronger bones
- Boosts immune system levels
- Increase mood levels
- Improving muscle function
- Protecting against cardiovascular disease
- Decreasing risk of type 2 diabetes
- Reducing risk of cancer
- Fighting depression
- Boosting weight loss
Fish Oils:
Fish oils are rich in essential omega-3 fatty acids such as EPA and DHA. These fatty acids are essential to our basic and fundamental health and well being. Dr. Lipman swears by fish oils and the reasons are pretty obvious!
Just like vitamin D, our bodies can’t make our own omega-3 fatty acids which is why supplements are so important. It’s silly to not to give our bodies a supplement that is life changing.
Fish Oil benefits include:
- Preventing against chronic diseases
- Preventing against inflammation
- Boosting immune system levels
- Boosting cardiovascular, joint, and vision health
- Strengthening skin, hair, and nails
- Enhancing nutrition absorption
- Supporting healthy cholesterol levels
- Improving metabolic function
- Boosting mood, attention, and memory levels
- Helping maintain strong bones
Probiotics:
Probiotics are supplements that are often overlooked. They are never given enough credit! Of course Dr. Lipman knows their worth, though. Probiotics are the “good” bacteria that live in your gut and keep your health and wellness in check. When you’re in a healthy place physically, your intestinal tract houses well over 100 trillion of this “good” bacteria. These probiotics have a long list of health benefits that no one wants to miss out on, especially not Miss Paltrow.
However, no matter how strong your natural internal probiotics may be, they are often not enough. Poor diet, pollution, stress, and an overuse of antibiotics can all contribute to wiping out these probiotics. This is where supplements come into play! A daily dose of probiotic supplements can help strengthen and repopulate your gut with necessary “good” bacteria.
Probiotics benefits include:
- Aiding in digestion
- Boosting immune system levels
- Consuming bad bacteria
- Creating key nutrients
- Restricting growth of yeast and unhealthy bacteria
- Limiting bouts of lactose intolerance, poor digestion, and diarrhea
Magnesium:
Magnesium is an extremely powerful vitamin. It helps control hundreds of chemical reactions within the body. Research has shown that as many as 80% of people are magnesium deficient so we think we need to follow Gwyneth’s lead and start taking magnesium supplements. Just like many vitamins, even if you live a healthy lifestyle, eat the right foods, reduce stress, reduce alcohol intake, and reduce specific drug intakes, your body can be depleted of magnesium. Supplementing with magnesium can lead to a well rounded path of health and wellness.
Magnesium benefits include:
- Regulating blood pressure
- Strengthening muscles and bones
- Keeping immune system levels high and strong
- Supporting cardiac function
- Supporting brain function
