What Does Kayla Itsines Take

Who Is She?

Kayla Itsines is an Australian fitness trainer and guru. It seems Itsines unintentionally became the biggest workout inspiration on the internet and girls all around the world are praising her. The 24-year-old trainer began her journey in 2008 when she took a personal training course at the Australian Institute of Fitness. After she graduated, Itsines accepted a job at a “women’s only” personal training center in Adelaide, Australia.

Kayla claims that the job is what inspired her to help women across the world. Her clients weren’t satisfied with the results they were getting and Kayla wanted to change that. There were a few key factors that all women seemed to want but just couldn’t achieve with generic exercises. Kayla says that the women wanted better inner thighs, toned arms, a flat stomach, and nice abs. She wanted to help them get these results so she created her own workout regime.

The training sessions began at home but when the word quickly spread from her friends who were seeing crazy fast results, Kayla decided it was time to take it to the next level. She created an online presence on Instagram and Facebook and the rest is history…and blowing our minds!

The Supplements…

Kayla Itsines believes that a well balanced and well thought out diet is the key to any fitness plan. Along with her training guides, she also has a diet guide. And it’s pretty dang good if we do say so ourselves.

While Kayla hasn’t openly discussed which supplements she personally takes, she does discuss the vitamins, minerals, and protein powders she recommends.

Protein Powders…

Whey Protein:

Whey protein is possibly the most popular protein powder on the market. Whey is a complete protein and contains all of the 9 essential amino acids that our bodies cannot produce on their own. Whey is quickly absorbed, inexpensive, and an easy protein supplement to add to your lifestyle.

There are three different forms of whey protein. Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC), Whey Protein Isolate (WPI), and Whey Protein Hydrolysate (WPH). It’s important to understand the differences between these powders before making a purchase.

Soy Protein:

Soy protein is made from soybeans and one of the few plant based protein supplements on the market. Soy protein contains all 9 essential amino acids. Kayla claims that soy can get a bad rep sometimes, but there is actually nothing to prove that it is harmful. So she likes it!

Pea Protein:

Pea protein is made from yellow split peas. It generally doesn’t have any additives or artificial ingredients which is why Kayla raves about it. Our bodies can actually absorb pea protein easily! Kayla strongly encourages pea protein for vegetarians and vegans.

Rice Protein:

Rice protein comes from, most commonly, brown rice. The rice does contain protein, but it is also a grain, which means it contains a lot of carbohydrates as opposed to its competitors. It does not contain all 9 essential amino acids but it does have its benefits which is why it can be a great option for vegetarians and vegans!

In Conclusion…

While it’s a bummer that we don’t know exactly what supplements Kayla Itsines takes, it is nice that she gives her audience a sneak peek at what she does encourage in the world of supplements. Kayla is an inspiration to women and girls all over the world, so we trust her on this one!
